Saving the Planet, One Flower at a Time
Each origami flower is made with recycled vinyl wall decals. Wall decals and wallpaper today are blended with plastics, to make them durable, but there is a lot of waste that doesn't get used and ends up in landfills. That's when Lawrence Beall, the artist, got the idea to turn his passion into a business that helps save our planet. Beall partnered with an interior design corporation to collect and recycle their unused wallpaper and wall decals, turning them into origami art, like these earrings.
Advantages of Using Vinyl Wall Decals
*Vinyl wall decals are manufactured to be scrubbable and, due to their high plastic content, they're expected to have a long lifespan, so you can rest assured that this material will have superior durability and that you can continue to enjoy its brilliant color longer.
Meaning of Sakura
In Japan, sakura, or the cherry blossom, is such a loved and anticipated springtime spectacle that they even have a word for the tradition of enjoying their viewing, hanami. The cherry blossom symbolizes renewal, purity, beauty, and life!
